Update on our Capacity Building Project

It’s been just over 12 months since we announced we had been awarded a Lotterywest Grant for internal capacity building and resource development.  The grant is aimed at expanding our scale, and improving our efficiency and effectiveness, setting up the Foundation for a successful future.  A future where we can progress our Priority Projects and continue our work educating visitors and encouraging them to care for and appreciate Rottnest Island.

While there are still some exciting developments on the horizon, we’re proud to share some of the key milestones we’ve already achieved.

Our first priority was the creation of a comprehensive Fundraising Document, showcasing the Rottnest Foundation, our history and our vision for the future of the island.  Designed in a modular format, for easy customisation, depending on our audience, this document forms the basis for our capacity building work going forward. As a crucial resource, it was important to get all the elements right, from imagery to wording and even branding.

From early in the process of developing our document, we realised that refreshing our brand and logo would be necessary.  A new brand would speak to who the Foundation is today and, importantly, where we are heading.  It was designed to help us build connection, inspire community support, and raise funds for our projects.  While funding for the development of a new brand was not included in our Lotterywest Grant, we felt it an important investment for the Foundation to ensure our other outcomes, from both the Capacity Building Project, and our day-to-day work, will have the greatest impact.

Take a look at our new Fundraising Document.

We are excited to share that our next phase of the Capacity Building Project will be a refresh to our website and integration of a new CRM.  Work is already underway and we hope to be able to share this with you by the end of the year.
