National Volunteers Week

The Rottnest Foundation was excited to be part of the National Volunteers Week celebrations in May.  We attended the National Volunteers Week Lunch hosted by the Rottnest Island Authority, and were delighted to have some of our valued volunteers join us for the event, including several volunteer Board Members and Ambassadors and a number of our active (and passionate!) tree planting volunteers.

This event brought together all the volunteer groups working on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island and recognised their amazing contributions to the island.

In 2025 Rottnest Foundation member and corporate volunteers planted over 4,200 seedlings, removed 200 tree guards and eliminated more than 200 bags of sea spurge from coastal dunes.

Volunteering as a member with the Rottnest Foundation provides an opportunity, not only to conserve the island, but also to build a community of passionate people, keen to give back to the island that means so much to them.

Part of our volunteering efforts also include corporate packages.  Thanks to our partnerships with the Rottnest Island Authority, Rottnest Express and Rottnest Fast Ferries, we are able to give businesses the opportunity to volunteer on the island, give back to an iconic Western Australian location and build strong teamwork skills, whilst also meeting ESG targets.

We look forward to continuing this incredible work in 2026!
