Alinta Energy volunteers return to Rottnest

We kicked off our winter planting season at the end of June with an amazing volunteer team from Alinta Energy. 

We hosted a group of 25 dedicated volunteers from Alinta who worked diligently to plant 520 young seedlings in just a few hours! It was great to see some new faces and reconnect with some Alinta staff that have been volunteering with us since 2021! 

The team was helped along by some fantastic weather and beautiful views of Wadjemup Lighthouse.  

Volunteer planting days like this have a huge impact on the Rottnest Foundation's Woodlands Restoration and Expansion project, helping us move toward our goal of restoring 53ha of Woodlands across the island.  

Our thanks to the RIA Environmental Team for their brilliant work planning and growing the seedlings, organising the planting and educating our volunteers on the importance of the Woodland habitats of Rottnest.
