2025 Planting Season a huge success!

It's spring and the planting season on Wadjemup is now complete for 2025. We are happy to report that it has been a wonderfully successful year.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 4 Volunteer days

  • 101 Volunteers

  • 3,800 Seedlings planted

  • 520 Volunteer hours contributed to Rottnest Island

We have also been incredibly fortunate with the weather this season.  Each one of our four volunteer planting days provided perfect weather, bright, cool and clear conditions for planting, with almost all days followed closely by much needed wet weather.  This combination has been key to helping the seedlings become established and giving them the best chance for survival in the future.

We'd like to send out a huge thank you, to the RIA Environmental Team, the Nursery and of course our passionate volunteers without which we couldn't achieve any of this.

Although the planting season on Wadjemup is finishing, we still have one more exciting volunteering opportunity available. Join the Rottnest Foundation on Saturday, 15 November for our Beach Clean Up Day, including sea spurge weed removal activities. We’d love to see you there!  Register now!
