5 years of Reconciliation WA Membership
In celebration of our milestone 5th year of membership, Reconciliation WA has presented the Rottnest Foundation with a certificate of acknowledgement.
We are honoured to partner with Reconciliation WA as a Bidi Member, supporting their continuing reconciliation, education and leadership initiatives and their advocacy for strong and respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the West Australian community.
Recently our CEO, Sally Hollis, attended a Reconciliation Masterclass by Rhys Paddick (Modern Custodian) that highlighted the importance of moving beyond just awareness, into a lived cultural practice.
We are pleased to be able to share key takeaways from the session, aimed at helping organisations like ours, take a thoughtful and authentic approach to reconciliation, connection to Country, leadership and personal responsibility.
Go slowly: meaningful reconciliation takes time and intention.
Country teaches and heals: connection to place matters.
Ritual and respect: cultural practices remain relevant today.
Leadership is “we”: show up for others.
Find your voice: authenticity builds connection and impact.
