The Wadjemup Bidi project has been in progress for a number of years and four of the five sections are now open and walkable! We wish to keep the momentum going, but we still need further funding partners to help us to achieve our goal of a completed trail by 2018-19.
Investing in the Wadjemup Bidi project will connect your corporate brand via promotion, exposure and brand enhancement opportunities to a sustainable green project which nurtures and supports the health and prosperity of the environment and the local community.
If your organisation became a partner in this project, Rottnest Foundation would create a benefit package tailored to suit your organisations budget & objectives, including the ability to develop a volunteering program for your employees to help build the trail!
One of the largest benefits about partnering on the trail project is the opportunity to promote and expose your business to approx. 530,000 people who visit Rottnest Island each year, via display of company logo on Interpretative signage and structures.
Programs that the ‘Wadjemup Bidi’ fits into include:
|Interactive Learning||Environmental Protection||Volunteer Networking|
|Community Spaces||Capacity Building & Skill Development||Caring for the Coast|
|Community Involvement||Coastal Management||Health & Wellbeing|
|Trails Development||Sustainable Leisure||Get Active Outdoors|
|Nature Based Tourism||Community Capacity Building||Visual Interpretation|
What we currently need funding for!
Funding is required to implement the entire Ngank Wen Bidi (southern) section of the Wadjemup Bidi to enable:
- contract staff to project manage and build the trail & associated components;
- beach access structures to be built;
- interpretive products to be installed;
- restoration/ conversion of the Radar Stations into interpretive art hubs (Public Art); and
- revegetation of denuded areas with native seedlings.
There are many options available that require funding, just tell us what your community investment budget is and we can match it with a trail project!
If you are interested in becoming a corporate partner and investing in this community project please contact our Grants & Sponsorship Coordinator- Rosalie Small- who can meet with you at your place of work to discuss funding options and benefit packages.
