Rottnest Foundation Volunteers

By becoming a member of the Rottnest Foundation, you can contribute directly to conservation projects on the Island.

Saturday 9 June, 2012 - Tree Planting at Little Parakeet:

Rottnest Foundation members will travel to Rottnest on Saturday, 9 June 2012 to plant 500 dune species at Little Parakeet Bay.  The Foundation recently funded the re-alignment of the beach access and new stairs into the Bay and look foward to returning to re-vegetate the area.

2011 Rottnest Foundation Volunteer Day

Fifteen devoted Rottnest lovers braved high seas and rain to plant over 350 trees and shrubs adjacent to Serpentine Lake as part of the Foundation's annual Tree Planting Day during July.  Apart from the wet conditions, (ideal for the young seedlings) everyone had lots of fun, enjoyed a scrumptious picnic lunch and left the Island satisfied  by a job well done!

2011 Volunteer Breakfast

Ten Foundation members attended the Rottnest Island Authority's annual Volunteer Breakfast.  Held at the Aristos Waterfront Cafe` in November, representatives from the RIA Staff, Board Members and the Minister for Tourism, Hon, Kim Hames, MLA, served volunteers a delicious breakfast and provided an overview of the of the enormous contribution  made by volunteers to the Island, estimated to be a staggering 35,000 hours!
