The purpose of the Rottnest Foundation is to ''Conserve the Essence of Rottnest' for present and future generations.
We aim to achieve this by:
- funding environmental, cultural and heritage projects;
- raising awareness of the Foundation's role in supporting the conservation of Rottnest's natural and cultural assets; and
- building and maintaining support for the Foundation's fundraising activities for Rottnest Island.
Established in 1985, the Foundation is a voluntary organisation that was borne out of a group of volunteers passionate about Rottnest Island, and operates independently from the Rottnest Island Authority.
It is led by a Board of 10 members who meet regularly to consider priority projects for the conservation of Rottnest's delicate eco system and preservation of its unique heritage buildings.
The Rottnest Foundation Inc. is registered with the Department of Environment and Heritage and all donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.
